Sixteen-strong grid for Truck Superprix finale
Stuart Oliver signs off 2008 Championship with 14th victory
Sixteen vehicles from the British Truck Racing Championship took to the track today(Sunday) for the last race at the Brands Hatch Truck Superprix.
Trucks from both Class A and Class B took part in the final truck race of the year, in which 2008 Champion Stuart Oliver scored his 14th victory this season.
David Jenkins held second place until he ran wide at Graham Hill Bend on lap two, allowing Mat Summerfield to slip through. Jenkins' miserable weekend continued as he lost further places to Richard Collett, Chris Levett and Steve Horne.
As Oliver streaked away a four-truck train formed consisting of Summerfield, Collett, Levett and Horne. Levett charged through to third place but made contact with Summerfield whilst battling for second place. This allowed Collett and Horne to pass but Levett was able to reclaim third place on the final lap.
Elton Boocock was the quickest of the Class B drivers in the final race of the season, finishing in eighth place ahead of French guest driver Maurice Monfrino.
